Scheduling

The Advanced Sommelier Theory Examination will be offered at a Pearson VUE testing center or an authorized Pearson VUE third-party testing center. In North America, the examination will take place on April 17, 2023. In Asia, we will offer a separate examination on May 2, 2023 to accommodate the significant number of eligible students in this time zone.

North America:

• April 17, 2023 at 10AM Pacific Time / 1PM Eastern Time
• Even though the system will offer multiple time options, Advanced Examination candidates must sign up for 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. If you sign up for an alternate time, your registration will be invalid.

Asia:

• May 2, 2023 at 1 PM KST
• Even though the system will offer multiple time options, Advanced Examination candidates must sign up for 1 PM KST. If you sign up for an alternate time, your registration will be invalid.

Candidates are responsible for determining the time translation to their own time zone. For those in North America who do not have a time change for daylight savings, which is March 12, 2023, please assess the time accordingly for the date of April 17, 2023. Examples include, but are not limited to, those testing in some parts of the HST, MST and CST time zones.

The Advanced Sommelier Theory Examination appointments at a Pearson VUE center must be made in advance and are subject to availability.

Appointment scheduling with Pearson VUE will be open from January 3 through February 28, 2023; we encourage you to schedule your exam as soon as possible so that you can secure a seat at the nearest center to you. If the center located closest to you is not immediately available, we suggest booking the next closest and continuing to check back to see if a closer center releases additional seats.

The time limit for the Advanced Sommelier Theory examination includes a NDA, the exam time, and survey. Candidates should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment.
