Pearson VUE helps CompTIA transition testing capabilities to online proctoring amid COVID-19 disruption

Pearson VUE rapidly enables its online delivery platform providing alternative access to deliver exams for important credentials

Bloomington, MN, April 15th 2020 – Pearson VUE, the global leader in computer-based testing, announced today that CompTIA, the global provider of vendor-neutral skills certifications and training for information technology (IT) professionals, has selected Pearson VUE’s OnVUE online proctoring solution as a new exam delivery option for its certification program. The transition to OnVUE exam delivery ensures testing candidates are still able to take required examinations for professional certification if physical test centers are limited or unavailable due to COVID-19 disruptions.

By transitioning to OnVUE as an online delivery option by April 15th, CompTIA will benefit from the simplicity of maintaining one publishing platform, along with the ability to streamline all test records to one single candidate record across all of Pearson VUE’s exam delivery modalities. Full integration gives CompTIA a cumulative candidate view, regardless of how exams are delivered.

Candidates will also enjoy OnVUE’s user-friendly system. After a simple download and convenient check in process (including via mobile), candidates will easily access their exams using their Apple Mac or Windows personal computers while at home or work.

Ray Murray, vice president and general manager – IT, Pearson VUE said: “This agreement is a testament to the unwavering resolve we have together with CompTIA to ensure that their critical exams and professional certifications continue forward, regardless of the temporary COVID-19 disruptions to in-person testing and proctoring.”

“Online testing with robust security protections that’s available anytime and anywhere promises to be a great advancement for CompTIA’s global certification program, and we’re extremely pleased to work with our longtime partner Pearson VUE on this important project,” said Todd Thibodeaux, president and CEO of CompTIA.

“Current and prospective IT professionals whose career advancement plans have been put on hold can be confident to resume exam preparations and purchase certification vouchers and training,” Thibodeaux added. “On April 15, they can schedule exams online with the full confidence that when they’re ready to test, they’ll do so on a platform that delivers a rich user experience and robust security protection, all from the privacy and security of their home.”
