National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians extends partnership with Pearson VUE

BLOOMINGTON, MN, April 29, 2015 – The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) has chosen to extend its partnership with global computer-based testing (CBT) leader Pearson VUE.

The announcement means that Pearson VUE will continue to deliver NREMT’s nationally recognized exams – Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic – across the U.S., and in military sites around the world.

Severo Rodriguez, MS, NREMT-P, LP, AEMCA, executive director of NREMT, said: “Our partnership with Pearson VUE reflects the flexibility and innovation we rely on as we support the emergency medical services profession. Pearson VUE has been a key partner of ours, providing excellent communication, technology, and test delivery support.”

NREMT’s exams are recognized by 47 states as steps in the licensure process and nationally-certified providers serve the public as first responders through hospitals, fire departments, and in volunteer roles in communities across the nation.  Additionally, Pearson VUE and NREMT support US service members through delivery of NREMT’s exams at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) located at Joint Base Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Bob Whelan, managing director of Pearson VUE, said: “For more than a decade we have worked closely with the NREMT to support the Registry in delivering its exams to communities across the nation. The NREMT represents the highest standards of practice, professionalism and public safety. We look forward to supporting the Registry’s growth and its key role in emergency medical services.”
