Pearson VUE to deliver MCP exams for Microsoft

BLOOMINGTON, MN, June 2, 2014 — Pearson VUE announced today that beginning September 4, 2014, the company has been added by Microsoft as an exam delivery provider for the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Program. Pearson VUE will deliver all MCP exams in addition to the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) exams delivered by its Certiport business today. The exams will be delivered in thousands of Pearson VUE® Authorized Test Centers around the globe.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Microsoft Certified Professional exams back to Pearson VUE,” said Ray Murray, Vice President, Business Development for IT, Pearson VUE. “Over the last eight years, we dedicated ourselves to making Pearson VUE the unparalleled choice for IT test delivery and services. Since then, our unwavering commitment to technology, security and service has allowed us to double our IT client roster and — with the addition of Microsoft — we now serve every major certification program in the IT industry.”

“Microsoft has a long history of collaboration and partnership with our organization, and over the years has challenged us in ways that have helped us become the leading test provider for the IT segment,” added Bob Whelan, President and CEO of Pearson VUE. “We’re honored that they have entrusted us with the MCP exams, and we’re excited to see what new industry breakthroughs we can forge together.”

Pearson VUE’s strategic focus and continued investment in addressing the needs of its testing clients has benefited IT programs in multiple ways. Over the past few years, the company has introduced numerous innovations that support the unique needs of this market, including its Enhanced Security Protocol (ESP), e-commerce and prep materials, real-time event notification, integrated testing and reporting across high- and low-stakes exams, self-publishing options, single sign-on, a dedicated IT marketing team, remote-proctoring, badging and more.

In 2012, Pearson VUE’s acquisition of Certiport — the largest provider of IT certification testing for the academic market — further strengthened its leadership position. With the integration of Certiport, Pearson VUE has worked with Microsoft continuously for more than 15 years. Pearson is also the official distributor of Microsoft Press products.

“We continually look for ways to add value for our Microsoft Certified Professionals. Over the past year, we’ve focused on increasing candidate convenience while ensuring credential integrity,” said Carrie Francey, Sr. Director, Sales, Marketing & Programs for Microsoft Learning Experiences. “We believe Pearson VUE will help us accelerate, and we’re excited about the new capabilities that will be introduced to our candidates, Learning Partners and other stakeholders as a result of this evolving partnership.”
